Volleyball Recap: Fellowship Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Fellowship Baptist Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Raleigh Christian Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Raleigh Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Fellowship Baptist Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-9, 25-12, 25-14.

Raleigh Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Hopkins led the charge by getting five aces and four digs. Hopkins is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Alyssa Wagenschutz was another key player, getting 13 kills, 12 digs, and three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Fellowship Baptist Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Raleigh Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-1.

Coming up, Fellowship Baptist Academy will head out on the road to challenge Greater Vision Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raleigh Christian Academy, they will take on True Gospel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
