Soccer Game Preview: C.B. Aycock vs. West Johnston

The C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons will square off against the West Johnston Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

C.B. Aycock fell victim to Fike and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons. While losing is never fun, C.B. Aycock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Fike are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, West Johnston had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for West Johnston, who have now won four matchups by six goals or more so far this season.

West Johnston pushed their record up to 4-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those three contests. As for C.B. Aycock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.
