Softball Recap: ITW David Speer Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, ITW David Speer Academy brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let the Golder Panthers get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Saturday. The Pride might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Sophia Hernandez looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anaiyah Costoso, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kloey Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

With the win, ITW David Speer Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-10. As for Golder, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ITW David Speer Academy will venture away from home to challenge Payton College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Golder, they will take on Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
