Trinity Christian Academy takes loss despite strong efforts from Haylee Morelli and Kaylin Spor

Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Eagles vs. Pine Ridge Panthers

After flying high against the Orangewood Christian Rams last Tuesday, the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Trinity Christian Academy was dealt a 56-29 loss at the hands of Pine Ridge on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Trinity Christian Academy has suffered since December 7, 2023.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian Academy had strong showings from Kaylin Spor, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Haylee Morelli, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 48.3% of Trinity Christian Academy's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Pine Ridge found their leader in underclassman Serenity Cressor, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 23 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cressor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Murray, who scored 17 points along with six steals.

Trinity Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pine Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Trinity Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against City of Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. Pine Ridge on the road again on Saturday and play against Spruce Creek at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th. Spruce Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pine Ridge in Florida (Spruce Creek is ranked 38th, while Pine Ridge is ranked 466th).
