Football Recap: El Toro Falls to Tesoro in First Game of Season + How To Watch

El Toro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 24-14 to the Tesoro Titans on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Titans are ranked 82nd).

Despite the loss, El Toro still got an impressive performance from Makya Chee, who rushed for 91 yards and one TD.

Nic Brubaker had an outrageously good game for Tesoro as he rushed for 181 yards and one score while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Brubaker got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 95 yards.

El Toro will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Tesoro, they will square off against San Marcos at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
