Valley Heights and Hillsboro squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Valley Heights had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20.

Ava Smith paced Valley Heights' offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Paige Miller and her 17 assists. Mia Vermetten controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Hillsboro to victory were Amyah Werth and Daisy Klein. Werth had 12 digs and two assists, while Klein had five digs. Werth has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 16 times she's played.

Valley Heights' loss dropped their record down to 27-9. As for Hillsboro, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-9.

Valley Heights has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Inman on the 25th. As for Hillsboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sedgwick on the 25th.
