Basketball Game Preview: Pilibos Eagles vs. Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons

The Pilibos Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pilibos knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Pacifica Christian/Orange County likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Pilibos was able to grind out a solid victory over Cypress, taking the game 60-51. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Centurions are ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pilibos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antranik Balian, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Balian's afternoon made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was David Boyadjian, who made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 18 points.

Meanwhile, Pacifica Christian/Orange County strolled past Colony with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 64-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tritons.

Pacifica Christian/Orange County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Pilibos, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
