Willamette faced West Salem in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolverines came out on top against the Titans by a score of 19-10. The 19-point effort marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Willamette found their leader in sophomore Zeke Thomas, who threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 64 yards on only seven carries. 90 of Thomas' passing yards were hauled in by Hunter Vaughn, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Willamette pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Salem, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
