Basketball Recap: Patel Comes Up Short

Patel played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Calvary Christian Warriors, falling 68-16. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Warriors are ranked 91st).

Patel got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Emerald White and Xiomari Matthews, who each put up four points. Mugdha Pillappa held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Patel's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Calvary Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Patel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-51 loss against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 27th. As for Calvary Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-38 defeat against Keswick Christian on the 28th.
