Softball Recap: Maple Mountain Golden Eagles vs. Northridge Knights

Maple Mountain extended their postseason success on Monday against Northridge. They put the hurt on the Northridge Knights with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering Maple Mountain has won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyla Donegan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, McClain Carter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base. Lydia Tibbals was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Maple Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. As for Northridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
