North Marion will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Meadowbrook Academy on Tuesday. The Colts put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 22-4 win. The Colts' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Hayden Erickson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alyssa Minchew and Lili Bedford did most of the damage at the plate: Minchew went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Bedford went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those three runs gave Minchew a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avree McCubbin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
North Marion hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lake Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against The Villages Charter, falling 10-0.
Lake Weir saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beth Levy, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
North Marion's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Lake Weir, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
