Volleyball Recap: St. Patrick's Takes a Loss

St. Patrick lost against Elm Creek back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Irish fell 3-1 to the Buffaloes. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

St. Patrick's started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Ruby Uerling and Jamie Murtaugh, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Brooke Brosius and her 30 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Miranda Huggenberger, each putting up two.

Reece Steiner was a one-woman wrecking crew For Elm Creek. as she had 32 digs and two aces. Those 32 digs gave Steiner a new career-high.

St. Patrick's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Elm Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

St. Patrick's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elm Creek, they will take on Sandy Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
