Roane County beats Mingo Central for their eighth straight win

Recap: Roane County Raiders vs. Mingo Central Miners

The Roane County Raiders put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They didn't even let Mingo Central onto the board and left with a 25-0 win. The result was nothing new for Roane County, who have now won seven contests by 23 points or more so far this season.

Roane County can attribute much of their success to Brandon Richardson, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Roane County also got a significant boost from Lane Watson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Roane County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jacob Bunner and his two sacks.

Roane County's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.4 points per game. As for Mingo Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Roane County will be playing in front of their home fans against North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Marion is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Mingo Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Chapmanville Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Chapmanville Regional is ranked 50th, while Mingo Central is ranked 27th).
