Football Recap: High Point Christian Academy Starts Season with Win at Home

High Point Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] with a sharp 34-14 victory. This was payback for High Point Christian Academy, who suffered a 42-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jaylen Moore was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 82 receiving yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another back making a difference was Hez Krider, who rushed for 62 yards and one score on only seven carries.

High Point Christian Academy's run defense was locked in: Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] could only muster 1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Micah Russell for the heroic effort on defense: he. High Point Christian Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.4.
