Softball Recap: Labelle Wins Going Away Against Gateway Charter

LaBelle never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Gateway Charter Griffins. The Cowboys/Cowgirls haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Abbie Reinking made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Reinking was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, LaBelle got a massive performance out of Amaiah Meyer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Meyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emorie Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

LaBelle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

LaBelle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gateway Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, LaBelle will take on Glades Day at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway Charter, they will square off against Lely at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
