Basketball Recap: Winter Haven's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winter Haven waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over the Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders.

Winter Haven was led to victory by Serenity Hardy and Quin?Nya Gray De Sanders. Hardy posted 23 points and four steals, while Gray De Sanders went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points and six steals. Gray De Sanders has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Shaw, who put up six points.

Winter Haven's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Monsignor Scanlan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Winter Haven wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-40 victory against Archbishop Wood on the 14th. As for Monsignor Scanlan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-43 win against L.C. Bird on the 14th.
