Basketball Game Preview: Fort Thomas Apaches vs. Duncan Wildkats

Fort Thomas is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the Duncan Wildkats at 7:00 p.m. Fort Thomas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Duncan likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Fort Thomas was fully in charge, breezing past Baboquivari 73-42.

Meanwhile, Duncan was able to grind out a solid victory over Superior on Friday, taking the game 48-41.

Fort Thomas better keep an eye on Isaiah Sumner. He was instrumental in Duncan's win, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. What's more, Sumner also posted a 56% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Jared Kempton was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Duncan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Fort Thomas, their record is now 4-0.

Fort Thomas beat Duncan 61-48 when the teams last played back in January. Do the Apaches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildkats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
