Softball Preview: Medway Mustangs vs. Ashland Clockers

The Medway Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Ashland Clockers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Medway has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Medway fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Westwood on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 11-10.

Priya Bedard and Katie Anderson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bedard went 1-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Medway didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 14 strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

Medway took their win against Ashland in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 16-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medway since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
