Baseball Recap: Sylmar's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Sylmar waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They skirted past the Poly Parrots 2-0. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Parrots on their field since February 25, 2015.

Not much got past Alex Martinez, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Poly off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luis Mendoza, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Sepulveda, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Sylmar's record is now 17-4. As for Poly, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 17-6 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Parrots beat Sylmar by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.
