The St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the New Life Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Croix Lutheran is headed into the match fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on St. Croix Prep with a sharp 23-12 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for St. Croix Lutheran.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Life Academy, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Schaeffer Academy 15-3. The high-scoring effort was just what New Life Academy needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Ashlyn Croon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Croon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
