The Del Oro Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Pioneer Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Oro is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Del Oro's victory against Woodcreek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Del Oro sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Woodcreek on Monday. While the Golden Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mikayla Finn looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caelyn Campos was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Delaney Osborne also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Pioneer was able to grind out a solid victory over Davis Sr. on Friday, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Jia Beebe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Marisa Bryson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Mayfield, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Pioneer now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Del Oro, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Del Oro came out on top in a nail-biter against Pioneer in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Del Oro since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
