Baseball Recap: Hinkley Drops Season-High Score on St. Mary's

Hinkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary's Pirates. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Thunder's highest-scoring contest to date.

Hinkley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nace Lovoto Rotolo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Gabriel Ocampo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Hinkley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Hinkley will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something the Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Mary's, they are taking a road trip to challenge Colorado Springs Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
