Baseball Recap: Wolfson Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Wolfson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Middleburg Broncos 6-4.

Paxton Frederick was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Sprague, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Wolfson's record now sits at 6-7. As for Middleburg, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Wolfson will square off against Atlantic Coast at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Middleburg, they are taking a road trip to take on Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
