            Softball Preview: Bergen Tech Knights vs. Passaic Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Bergen Tech has gone 9-1 against Passaic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Monday. The Knights will face off against the Indians at 4:15  p.m. Bergen Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5  runs per game  this season.
Bergen Tech proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by six) and  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Emerson  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Knights have posted  since May 28, 2024.
 Shannon Quigley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on six hits.

 On the hitting side,  Sophia Tripodi was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  doubles, one  triple,  and two  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sarah Mennella, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Passaic's offense. They came up short against  DePaul Catholic on Wednesday, falling  15-0. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
 Bergen Tech has  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Passaic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Everything went Bergen Tech's way against Passaic in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024, as Bergen Tech made off with  a  16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
