Softball Recap: River View Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither River View nor Sandy Valley made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Black Bears fell 6-2 to the Cardinals. The Black Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Regan Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, River View saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

River View's record now sits at 4-20. As for Sandy Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sandy Valley beat River View by a score of 10-1 later that day.
