Baseball Recap: Mater Dei Comes Up Short

If Mater Dei was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Granite City on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Waterloo Bulldogs by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Mater Dei saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Salzman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Mater Dei's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Waterloo, their record is now 12-7.

Coming up, Mater Dei will be playing in front of their home fans against Valmeyer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Waterloo, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jersey at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
