Basketball Recap: Powell County Comes Up Short

Powell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Knott County Central Patriots and fell 60-27. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Patriots are ranked 91st).

Powell County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Knott County Central, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powell County will host Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knott County Central, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Wolfe County at 7:15 p.m.
