Baseball Recap: Blue Valley North Gets the Win

The Blue Valley North Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Lee's Summit West Titans on Thursday.

Blake Sebastian tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jaden Loehr-Chase was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Bellm, who earned three runs and one stolen base.

Blue Valley North's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Lee's Summit West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Valley North will square off against Lee's Summit at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee's Summit West, they will challenge Shawnee Mission Northwest at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
