Baseball Recap: Willits Comes Up Short

Willits lost to Sonoma Academy back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolverines came up short against the Coyotes, falling 13-2.

Jakoby Kirby made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ryan Carter, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Willits' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Sonoma Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Willits will square off against Calistoga at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sonoma Academy, they will take on Montgomery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
