Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Falls Despite Big Games from Randall Guidry and Luke Irwin

Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Ridge Rangers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-39 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cedar Ridge had strong showings from Luke Irwin, who posted five points, and Randall Guidry, who earned eight points and six rebounds. Guidry continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Vista Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Kuehn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Gavin Howard was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Cedar Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Vista Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-15.

Cedar Ridge will host McNeil at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Vista Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista Ridge is facing Manor at the right time seeing as Manor is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
