Keystone Shortway - Small recap September 4, 2013

Cody Hearst of Clarion Area ran for the longest rushing play in Keystone Shortway - Small this season against Clarion-Limestone last week. Hearst's team defeated the Lions as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 60 in all.

Fans got a thrill when Cicciarelli Lane and Shane Murphy connected against Allegheny-Clarion Valley. The connection went for 70 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.

Union's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lane threw for 107 and 3 touchdowns and Murphy had 107 yards receiving. On the ground Dylan Shirey contributed 117 yards.

The Knights/Damsels' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver.

Clarion Area moved up to 159 from 191 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Larry Wiser's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting Clarion-Limestone 74-0.
