Basketball Recap: Carlee Cox Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hoehne

It's playoff time, and Simla had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Hoehne Farmers by a score of 48-40 on Friday. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Farmers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Simla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carlee Cox, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 17 points. Cox is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Kylie Maranville was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Hoehne had strong showings from Kaylah Crosson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Braylee Foster, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Chacon, who posted three points.

Simla's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Hoehne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-5.

Simla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-41 defeat against Burlington on the 15th. Hoehne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
