Basketball Recap: LEAD Academy Piles Up the Points Against Valor College Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brentwood Academy, LEAD Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They breezed by the Valor College Prep Wildcats to the tune of 73-31. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Dreshawn Harvell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Seay, who posted eight points.

LEAD Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

LEAD Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Valor College Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

LEAD Academy will head out to challenge Lawson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lawson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Valor College Prep, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Valor College Prep Wildcats duke it out with the Franklin Road Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Road Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three games.
