Basketball Game Preview: Christian Fellowship vs. Chamois Pirates

Christian Fellowship will venture away from home to challenge the Chamois Pirates at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Fellowship knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Chamois likes a good challenge.

Christian Fellowship is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Plaza Heights Christian Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Christian Fellowship strolled past Plaza Heights Christian Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 63-44.

Luke Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Davis is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jake Davis was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine assists.

Christian Fellowship was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plaza Heights Christian Academy only racked up seven assists.

Meanwhile, Chamois was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 42-38 to Prairie Home. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Panthers are ranked 118th).

Christian Fellowship pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Chamois, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Christian Fellowship took their victory against Chamois in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 68-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Fellowship since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
