Bates Came Up Big in Garfield's 40-0 Win
Starting off the list is Garfield's Devin Bates, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Bates rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Those 120 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Garfield, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Bates and Garfield are taking a road trip to square off against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Maxwell Hawkins Dazzles in Crestview Victory
Crestview picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Maxwell Hawkins. Nobody could stop Hawkins as he rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
Hawkins must have Champion's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hawkins saw the Golden Flashes), he rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.

Crestview Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Jake Noling
Jake Noling was instrumental in extending Crestview's winning streak to seven on Friday. Champion had no answer to Noling as he threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing, and also rushed for 82 yards on only six carries.
For the year, Noling has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 78.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 7.18 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 118.9 passer rating.

AJ McEwen's big game helped extend Crestview's winning streak to seven on Friday. McEwen turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up two sacks and making six total tackles.
