Volleyball Game Preview: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Chalker Wildcats

After both having extra time off, the Jackson-Milton Bluejays and the Chalker Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Jackson-Milton lost 3-0 to Mineral Ridge on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost nine in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Chalker and Maplewood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Chalker wouldn't go down easily and took Maplewood into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-22, 17-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Jackson-Milton's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Chalker, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Jackson-Milton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Chalker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
