Softball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Tigers vs. Howe Bulldogs

The Blue Ridge Tigers will face off against the Howe Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Blue Ridge and Gunter, and Gunter kept the tradition alive. Blue Ridge came up short against Gunter on Friday, falling 13-3.

Kenzie Baker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miranda Caro, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Howe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to Bells.

Howe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Burt, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Howe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Blue Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Howe in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 11-7. Does Blue Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Howe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
