Soccer Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

If Apollo was feeling good fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Hopkins County Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Owensboro Catholic Aces by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Apollo were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Owensboro Catholic earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Apollo has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Owensboro Catholic, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3-1 and their overall record up to 6-4-1.

Coming up, Apollo will be playing in front of their home fans against Bryan Station at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Owensboro Catholic, they will square off against Todd County Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Todd County Central will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Owensboro Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
