Wasilla and West Valley are an even 4-4-2 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Warriors will take on the Wolf Pack at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wasilla will be strutting in after a victory while West Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Wasilla is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Lathrop, who was ranked fourth at the time (Wasilla was ranked third). The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Malemutes 2-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Wasilla.

Mylee Anderson and Lainey Kroon scored both of Wasilla's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, West Valley was not quite Lathrop's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Malemutes by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for West Valley in their meetings with Lathrop: they've now lost three in a row.

Wasilla's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Everything went Wasilla's way against West Valley in their previous meeting on Saturday, as Wasilla made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
