Baseball Recap: Oakton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Oakton had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 11-5 to make it five. They lost 11-1 to the Battlefield Bobcats. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2018.

As for Battlefield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Battlefield's part, Alex Kamprowski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. Kamprowski has become a key player for the Bobcats: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Battlefield got a massive performance out of Yogi Colangelo, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Colangelo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Leach, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

While Oakton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
