            Baseball Preview: Parkway South Patriots vs. Eureka Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Parkway South is on  an  eight-game streak of home wins, while Eureka is on  a  three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Patriots will host the Wildcats  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Parkway South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season.
Parkway South proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by 13) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Rolla  7-5.
 Corwin Plank looked comfortable as he  pitched 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive appearances.

 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  August Johansen, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Andy Hertlein was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  after low-scoring totals in their previous three  match, Eureka brought some dynamite into their most recent  contest. They never let Waynesville get on the board and left with  a   15-0  victory  on Wednesday.  Eureka has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Parkway South, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.
 Parkway South was able to grind out a solid  win over Eureka in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024, winning  5-1. Will the Patriots repeat their success,  or do  the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
