Football Recap: Pilot Point's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against A Plus Academy two weeks ago, Pilot Point came back down to earth. The Bearcats lost 35-14 to the Pottsboro Cardinals on Thursday. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Although Pilot Point took the loss, they still got scores from Hunter Newman and Caden David.

Leading Pottsboro to victory were Zavier Brady and Carson Nix. Brady picked up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Nix rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Brady also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass.

The loss snapped Pilot Point's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. As for Pottsboro, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coincidentally, Pilot Point and Pottsboro will both be playing Whitesboro the next time they take the field. The Bearcats will host the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 7.
