Softball Game Preview: Curlew Cougars vs. Northport Mustangs

The Curlew Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Northport Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Curlew lost 19-13 to Mary Walker on Saturday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Northport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Lakeside, falling 18-7. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring game to date.

Curlew's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Curlew couldn't quite get it done against Northport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 21-16. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
