It was a good run, but Seymour unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the De Pere Redbirds by a score of 2-1. The Thunder were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redbirds from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Seymour sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 15-5.
Kylie Zahn paced Seymour's offense, picking up eight kills. Zahn got some help from Riley Leisgang and her 16 assists. Katelyn VanDeHei controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
De Pere was led to victory by Mallory Derenne and Sadie Spindler. Derenne had 12 digs and one assist, while Spindler had five digs and one assist.
Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 16-15. As for De Pere, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-15.
Seymour wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against West De Pere on the 11th. As for De Pere, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Chippewa Falls on the 11th.
