League recap: McCall dominating on the mound for Union

Keystone Shortway league recap: 5/21/12

Union's Kane Mccall was the best pitcher in the league this week. He won two games and struck out 29 batters.

Wyatt Everetts was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .533 average with five RBIs. Meanwhile, Karns City put together a 4-2 week.

The Knights/Damsels' pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 11 hits and eight walks, both of which led the league. On the season, Union has allowed just 11 hits, while striking out 120 batters. McCall leads Union with 71 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched.

Although the Gremlins finished first in the league this week with 58 hits, Clarion Area still sits atop the the league leaderboard with 174 total hits this season. With 20 hits this year Derek Sadowski leads the third-place squad, which finished with a 4-2 record this week.

Cameron Kirkland led all closers in the league this week by notching two for the Bobcats. His four saves this year put him in first place in the league in that category.
