Softball Recap: Bishop Gorman Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beckman, Bishop Gorman was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Trabuco Hills Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gaels have posted since May 6, 2024.

GIANNA HORNYAK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, SAMANTHA LEFEVER was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was SOPHIA KIRKPATRICK, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Bishop Gorman's victory bumped their record up to 10-8-1. As for Trabuco Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Bishop Gorman will host Green Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Trabuco Hills, they will venture away from home to face off against Garden Grove at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
