Football Recap: Oak Hall Eagles vs. Branford Buccaneers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bell, Oak Hall was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Branford Buccaneers by a score of 28-20.
Oak Hall can attribute much of their success to Briggs Copeland, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 20 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Despite the loss, Branford still got an impressive performance from Maurice Vought, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown. Vought's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
The victory got Oak Hall back to even at 1-1.
Oak Hall will square off against Bishop Snyder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hall will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Branford, they will head out on the road to challenge Wewahitchka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
