Recap: West Ashley Wildcats vs. Summerville Green Wave
The West Ashley Wildcats suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 54-33 defeat at the hands of Summerville. West Ashley has struggled against Summerville recently, as their game on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Crowe, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals. Crowe hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Serenity Corley, who scored no points along with three steals and two blocks.
West Ashley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Summerville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Ashley will take on Fort Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Fort Dorchester is ranked 78th, while West Ashley is ranked 101st). As for Summerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Ashley Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashley Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
