Basketball Game Preview: Boyd Christian Broncos vs. Jordan Christian Prep Seahawks

The Boyd Christian Broncos and the Jordan Christian Prep Seahawks will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. Boyd Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Boyd Christian picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They walked away with a 45-37 win over Jefferson Christian Academy.

Boyd Christian can attribute much of their success to Katie Bechtel, who posted 17 points and five boards, and Brooke Kesey, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Kesey is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Macie Bush was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Jordan Christian Prep sidestepped Mountain Mission for a 57-55 victory.

Boyd Christian better keep an eye on Amelia Williams. She was instrumental in Jordan Christian Prep's win, posting 30 points. Williams is becoming a predictor of Jordan Christian Prep's success: when she posts at least 25 points the team is 12-5 (and 4-6 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Salome Lopez Rangel, who earned 11 points.

Boyd Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-12 record this season. Jordan Christian Prep's win bumped their record up to 16-11.

Boyd Christian couldn't quite finish off Jordan Christian Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 45-42. Can Boyd Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
