Volleyball Game Preview: McAllen Bulldogs vs. Pioneer Diamondbacks

The McAllen Bulldogs will head out to take on the Pioneer Diamondbacks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, McAllen got the win against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19, 25-15.

McAllen found their leader in sophomore Gabriella Saenz, who had nine digs and six assists.

McAllen Memorial typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Pioneer proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Mustangs 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Diamondbacks in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-101) Pioneer actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 27-29, 25-23, 9-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Pioneer's win bumped their record up to 29-4. As for McAllen, their victory bumped their record up to 23-13.
